Well, I hope this finds everyone doing well and in good health.
We ended February with a great beer dinner. Thank you Russel and Carol for hosting. Good beer, good food, and great people. It was a very nice evening. We are looking for a Host for the April beer dinner. I'm thinking the third or fourth weekend in April. If those dates work for anyone let me know.
Bluebonnet is fast approaching. I will need to know the estimated arrival times of those attending so we can plan on unloading and setting up the bar. If you have already told me no need to tell me again.
Bar evaluation on March 1st went well. The bar is very easy to roll around with 2 people on a flat surface. As for loading and unloading I think 4 people will be ideal, 3 in a pinch. Also, let me know again who has kegs. We have 8 taps to fill. Just text Gary.
The next bar workday is March 8th at 2pm and that will also be the March club meeting.
The first club competition entry is due by April 10th. 1 entry per person and it’s a best beer competition. The Single style challenge will be a Schwartzbier (BJCP 2021 Style Guide category 8B). I do not know if it will be the 2nd or 3rd competition, that will depend on the wort challenge and the brewery that hosts it so be prepared.
And lastly, a reminder if you haven't paid your dues yet, please do. I will be updating the BCHA group text at the end of March. You will still receive GroupMe messages and the Brew Blast if you choose not to.
