January 2026 Brew Blast

Happy New Year everyone. 

Well, I was hoping to have the date for the kickoff meeting at Ben E. Keith, but a date hasn't been finalized. As soon as I do we will send it out.

Iron Mash Awards Day is February 1st. Entries must be received by Jan 17th. Gary will be making a trip to brew hound if anyone wants to ride along you are more than welcome. May also meet up with Tom on that trip.

The following is the email from the organizers with all information:

• Location: Knights of Columbus Hall at 1907 Whitley Road, Keller, TX 76248 (same location as last year).

• Date & Time: Sunday, February 1st, 2026.

  • Set up opens at Noon.

  • Tasting & Trash Talking 1pm- 3:30pm

  • Awards announcement at 3:30pm

  • Clean up 4-5pm

• Parking: There is parking in front of the Hall, as well as around the north side in the open field.

• The event is not open to the general public. Please limit attendance to team members, immediate family and members of Homebrew Clubs.  

• Heat: Same as last year- there will be electric outlets for warmers. Sterno is okay, but no open flame or cooking on site.

Bottle Label Sheet:

Two bottles this year, unless you want to add a third bottle to compete for the Best-of-Show format TexMalt Trophy.

You can turn your bottles in at Brewhound (8808 Camp Bowie W Blvd #16, Ft. Worth, TX 76116) between now and Saturday, January 17th at 4:00PM. Please attach labels with a rubber band and not tape.

If you’re coming to the Cap & Hare meeting tonight (1/5/26), I’ll also take entries there, just make sure you have them labelled.

Shirts!

• Shirts are back for this year. Thanks to everyone who commented and voted for the shirt designs. We’re using a print-on-demand shop this year, so order early to get your merch in time. Printing is done in Coppell, so still local and fairly quick. Gear up for awards day here.
